2016 Ducati Monster 821 Dark Review

The monster 821 maintains the unique, stylish feature and characteristic of the Monster more than two decades later since the initial unveiling of the monster edition. Ducati has incorporated features of the previous models into the 821 but made critical enhancements to give it a new feel of class, elegance and ultimate performance. Also, the monster 821 utilizes a muscular styling, same chassis similar to the monster 1200 and it is built with Ducati’s latest technologies with premium components.

Monster 821 Dark is built in dark stealth with classic black wheels and black frames to give it an elegant and flashy look. The bike is designed to offer ultimate comfort to the rider by use of an innovative and adjustable seat height. Besides, this make combines a3-level ABS, 3-level Ride-by-Wire and the 8-level traction control into Ducati’s user-friendly remote control system. It has a wide handlebar for an enjoyable riding experience.

Engine and performance

The Dark monster is powered by Ducati’s highly successful 821 Testastretta 110 V-twin four stroke liquid cooled engine with a six-speed transmission. Further, the engine combines 65.9ft-lb torque and 112hp with impressive lightweight (overall package is 179.5kgs) to offer exclusive performance which in essence defines the way back to the original idea behind the Monster concept.

Equipped with High-spec brakes and an excellent suspension system that merge the Italian manufacturer’s best-yet ergonomic to equally offer an attractive and highly efficient mid-range Monster ever.

Technical features

The monster 821 makes use of advanced technologies to develop a super enhanced relationship between the bike and the rider, delivering an adrenaline experience while incorporating a feel of complete control and ergonomic integration. The monster rolls on the Panigale-style 10-spoke light alloy wheels which add to the light weight. A super headlamp that uses the conventional halogen main light illumination with LED lights on either side gives a beautiful illumination.

 

The Monster 812 dark is already available in the market at a price of approximately £8,995.
