Café racers may seem old-fashioned, but they still inspire never-ending dedicated websites, TV shows and magazines. However, in the showroom and bike stores, the options are surprisingly few on the ground.
This may be attributed to their custom made design and nature that make them take an identical and dull look and thus lack the appeal. For instance, the recent Ducati model SportClassic range never clocked the sales success that the manufacturer anticipated to get. The Guzzi V7 is one of the most complete café racers on the market today. Its chrome finished tank, drop bars, upswept pipes, laced wheels and red frame, gives this racer a refined outlook.
2. Triumph Thruxton

This racer is cheaper than the Guzzi V7 Racer, but it’s also pretty and complete both from its name and styling. Its engine performance is similar to that of the 1960 Bonnie-based café racer. This new model has blacks and bare alloys instead of the chrome making it a more contemporary machine than its predecessors.
3. BMW R NineT

If we keep it real, the NineT is the best machine in this list. However, it comes in the third position because of its retro-inspired styling. This makes this racer short of options that would have made it a “real” café racer. Having a bulged aluminum tail cover and upswept pipes, the only missing options are proper clip-on bars which would have made it take on a complete look.

Almost all the modern Norton machines are qualified to be on this list, but since the firm has only branded this model as the real café racer, that’s why it’s the one that made it to the list. Its engine resembles that of the original Commando.

It’s not the name that makes this racer rank in the same list with Norton and Triumph, but it’s the features packed in this racer that make it qualify to be called a café racer. This Chinese-made is the newest in the market, but it has already made its mark.
