Yamaha Motor Corp. USA made the announcement of its new 2017 motorcycles, alongside accessories for the 2017 model year bikes. The 2017 Yamaha YXZ1000R SS pure sport SxS and the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing torque assist gear kit for the same model are bound to hit dealerships later in the month. Also, a Tactical Black Kodiak 700 ATV (Special Edition) will also be debuting in October, ready for the riding season in the fall.
According to RV Operations Vice President at Yamaha, Mike Martinez, the YZX1000R remains the best pure sport SxS in the market, a year after its world debut.
Following the introduction of the 2017 model of the YXZ1000R in June, Yamaha is working hard to ensure these latest motorcycles hit dealerships before the end of the month.
The Team Yamaha Blue/White model features colored seat stitching, a blue sun top, race-inspired decals and embroidered seats. The MSRP is $19,999. The YXZ1000R SE which comes in Matte Black sports FOX2.5 Podium X2 Shocks, cast aluminum beadlock wheels and painted bodywork. The MSRP is $21,599.
The YXZ1000R is the only pure SxS in the world. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 998cc engine with three cylinders (an industry’s first), coupled with a 5-speed sequential manual gearbox. This model keeps Yamaha’s high performance DNA, delivering more than adequate power and handling for any pure sport SxS enthusiast.
GYTR Torque Assist Gear Kit
Making it into the list of Yamaha Parts and Accessories is the GYTR Torque Assist Gear Kit. This comes in handy when the YXZ1000R is in rugged and diverse terrain. The system works to reduce the bike’s overall gearing, resulting in enhanced torque control. The final gearing undergoes a reduction of 30%, providing balanced close-ratio performance. Also, the first gear ratio undergoes an addition of 40% to provide enhanced low-speed crawling. The kit comprises of an OEM transmission case which is CNC-machined, eliminating the need for modification, grinding or outside machining, an adjustable CNC speedometer calibrator, and genuine Yamaha parts to facilitate the installation. The kit will retail for $999.99 and will be available at Yamaha dealers by the end of the month.

The new color option for 2017 is Tactical Black. The Kodiak 700 SE features durable paint bodywork, cast aluminum wheels, electric power steering (EPS) and On-Command 4WD system, giving the rider the ability to choose between 2WD, 4WD or 4WD with full differential lock, all this being controlled by the push of a button.
