While everybody, in the recent years, has been throwing their hat in the scrambler ring, The Moto Guzzi is one of the manufacturers that one can easily point out to as they have been manufacturing scrambler motorcycles for a long time. Having more than 50 years of manufacturing scrambler-style cruisers, the company can be termed as one of the manufacturers that pioneered these types of bikes. It first unveiled the Moto Guzzi Stornelloin 1960, and later launched a more dedicated off-road model called the Stornello scrambler in 1967.
As the wave of popularity continues to swipe the scramblers, Moto Guzzi brought back the name by manufacturing the 2016 Moto Guzzi V7II Stornello. They will be in a limited edition as only 1000 of them will be manufactured, each with laser number that will be inscribed on an aluminum tag which is to be affixed to its headstock.
The V7 II will be equipped with a transversal 90-degree V-Twin that resembles most of the prior version of the Moto Guzzi and will be fed by the Weber Marelli fuel injection. The Guzzi V-Twin will have a torque of 43.96 lb-ft at 3250rpm and a maximum power of 48hp at 6700rpm. Other notable carryovers of this model will include a traction control that can be delinked, ABS, and the 6-speed gearbox which was unveiled on the V7 in 2015.
The 2016 Moto Guzzi V7II Stornello will have a long and low saddle, knobby tires, a 2-in-1 Arrow Exhaust, rubber guards in its fuel tank, hand-brushed aluminum mudguards, and fork gaiters. This cruiser will be more suited for off-road rides than the traditional V7. They will have an aluminum extension to offer better grip for the rider’s feet when on the road.
The bike will be launched in mid-2016 in the U.S market, but the price will be announced later.
