Harley-Davidson is a leading American motorcycle manufacturer. The company was founded in the year 1903 and specializes in the production of traditional cruiser bikes. Their bikes are renowned all over the world for their high quality, and they utilize air-cooled V-twin engines. The company has manufactured reliable motorcycles for over a century. They are now deeply rooted in the American culture, and their history is deeply integrated with the history of America itself.

By 1910, the company was already incorporated, and they were producing bikes using the 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin signature. One of their greatest achievements in their early days was the sourcing of their bikes by the American military during the First and Second World Wars. It is cited that they supplied the armed forces with at least 90,000 units during these war periods.

In 1957, the company introduced its Sportster model that is a predecessor of 2016 Harley-Davidson Iron 883. In the 1960s, the company experienced changes in ownership merging with American Machine and Foundry. Nonetheless, the ownership shifted back to the descendants of its founders in the early ‘80s and their involvement in the day-to-day running of the family continues up to today.

This 2016 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 has an overall length of 85.8 inches with a wheelbase of 59.6 inches. The unladen model has a seat height of 28.9 inches while the laden model has a seat height of 25.7 inches. The Iron 883 has a total weight of 562 pounds with a ground clearance of 4.3 inches. The model is fitted with dual mufflers wheels in the exhaust system. The braking system comprises of a double piston on the rear and caliper type dual-piston on the front.

The Iron 883 consists of a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel enabling it to maintain stability at high speeds. This cruiser bike has a 4.6-inch trail with a 30-degree rake on its steering head. The bike is fitted with instrument clusters mounted on top of the high beam headlight. The instruments indicate all engine diagnostics readouts, low battery, security system, and low fuel warning.

Furthermore, the motorcycle has gauges that are mounted on the handlebar. Other instruments include a digital odometer, speedometer, clock, and dual trip meter. It is fitted with an LED light system on the back that accentuates its stylish appearance.

The engine has a displacement capacity of 53.9 cubic inches. The evolution engine has a four-cam gear train with an overhead valve design. It has a fuel capacity of 3.3 gallons and a weight capacity of 2.8 qt.

The bike’s engine has a 3 Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection fuel system. Furthermore, the engine produces a torque of 253.8 ft-lb at 3750 rpm. The bike can achieve a lean angle of 27 degrees to the right and 28 degrees to the left while traveling at top speeds. It has a fuel consumption rate of 4.6liters per 100 kilometers.

The motorcycle was released to the market in September 2015. The color option costs $8,849 while the hard candy color option costs $9,299.
