Kawasaki Motorcycle Company, incorporated in 1963 out of Japan, has a deservedly proud reputation in the motorcycling world, and it lives up to it in stunning fashion with its latest offering in the road-bike class: The 2017 Kawasaki Z125 Pro.
The Z125 Pro’s single cylinder, 4-stroke SOHC engine, with an impressive 125cc displacement, thanks to its over-square 56.0 x 50.6 mm bore and stroke dimensions is finely tuned for street riding with an exciting sportiness and power delivery that remains easy to ride. Digital fuel injection with a 24mm throttle body ensures smooth operation and quick starts every single time.
The positioning of its 2.6-Liter air box, Cam profiles, and intake port design minimize intake noise as well as contribute to quick revving engine ability and idling stability.
Low-forward engine situation in the Z125 Pro optimizes the weight distribution of the bike, enhancing its already awesome agility.
Four-speed transmission with manual clutch and a traditional clutch lever with a very light feel and positive engagement support link-type shifting as is found in full-size sports bikes, though the Z125 Pro’s setup requires very little load pressure to engage.
Aggressive 30mm inverted shocks with 10mm of stroke up front show that the Z125 Pro means business while they are offset by 4-way pre-load adjustable rear shocks to accommodate varying rider and passenger dimensions. 12-inch cast aluminum wheels encircled in 100/90 and 120/70 front and rear tires with sizes and tread patterns chosen for optimized handling go further to enhance the joyful nimbleness that is characteristic of the Z125 Pro.
Kawasaki Automatic Compression Release (KACR) helps ensure easy, consistent start by utilizing the exhaust valve to release cylinder pressure during starts. A high-tensile steel backbone with tube diameter ensures the Z125 Pro is up to the challenge of 2-up riding while front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with Nissin calipers give it precision stopping abilities.
