The 2016 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber is one of two models at EICMA built around the new 850CC engine. This is an upgrade of the Moto Guzzi Nevada 750- one of the Guzzi contemporary range bike for more than two decades. The Nevada was known for its rider-friendly nature and according to the Moto Guzzi, and the V9 Roamer will carry on this tradition. Some of the few technical details released are the bike having switchable traction control and ABS and a standard USB charging port.
This new model from Moto Guzzi has shifted focus to elasticity and torque, offering a maximum torque of 45.7 lb-ft (62 NM) at as low as 3,000rpm. The blueprint to this machine has been built since 1967 and has incorporated modern technology in order to comply with the emission rules and trends in the market.
Each cylinder is fitted with two valves that are fed via Marelli electronic injection system and commanded by pushrods. Power is then channeled through a new six-speed gearbox and a single-plate dry clutch to the final drive. This makes the Moto Guzzi remain loyal to its basics and roots.
Although the V9 Bobber will retain most of the traditions of its predecessor, it’ll incorporate a lot of modern accessories and technical available to personalize the bike too, such as the MG-MP multimedia platform that will provide connectivity between the bike and the rider’s smartphone.
The V9 Bobber has a darker outlook and a striking design thanks to the huge tires fitted to its 16-inch front and rear wheels, blacked out chassis and engine parts.
