A bit late for the party started at the beginning of 2016, Harley-Davidson announced their newest motorcycle: The 2016 Harley-Davidson Pro Street Breakout. The model has been long awaited by fans of the series as well as motorcycle enthusiasts and will certainly be a refreshing presence on the road – even though we might not see very much of it.
The previous models from this collection were launched by Harley-Davidson in 2012 and 2013 and were both entitled CVO Breakout, replacing the former CVO Softail Convertible. The 2016 version goes back to the origins of the CVO models, while also coming with some new additions which will keep the series fresh.
The model comes with an 110ci Screamin’ Eagle Twin Cam engine, while also boasting a Heavy Breather Elite and black blunt-cut mufflers for added performance. The handlebar is clearly inspired from drag-type models, as well as the speed screen. The motorcycle also features dual disk brakes and a 43mm inverted fork in the front. In the back, the bike features an aggressive 240mm tire meant to move all the power from the engine to the asphalt.
Harley paid great attention to the details of the 2016 CVO model. While a Harley-Davidson bike can never look weak, the Pro Street Breakout looks exceptionally aggressive and masculine. The rocker cover is painted in a gloss black, while the lower cover has a chrome color. Smoke Satin Chrome was the chosen finish in the vast majority of the parts which can actually be seen, in order to give the bike a very metallic outlook. Mainly, the entire motorcycle was painted in shades of black, grey and chrome.
While it will surely be on the wish list of many motorcycle enthusiasts, the price tag may provide a stumbling block for some. The model costs around $25,699, significantly higher than Softail Breakout models but towards the lower end of the CVO spectrum, which can raise as high as $40,000. All in all, the motorcycle is a classic, trademark Harley-Davidson: powerful, masculine and robust.
