Honda unveils CRF1000 with Africa Twin logo

Bike manufacturing giant Honda has officially unveiled the brand new CRF1000 that has marked the return of the legendary Africa Twin logo. It has been 12 years since the XRV750’s production was shut down. The new CRF 1000 has a clean slate design road and the makers have kept in mind the road capability without compromising the touring comfort and everyday guilt.

The line-up of Honda already has the VFR1200X Crosstourer in its line-up so there is not much need for the Africa Twin to be an ultimate do-it-all adventure. It is exclusively for the off-road enthusiasts. Honda has explained, “it has to perform in off-road situations as well as on-road long-range touring, and all points in between.”
The new CRF100 has a 998 cc two cylinder engine with a Unicam, 4 valve engine and a 270 degree crankshaft with an engine output of 94 hp (70kw)/ 7,500 rpm and 98 Nm (72.3 Ib-ft)/ 6,000 rpm applied through six speed gearbox with an assist slipper clutch.
Honda has claimed that the new engine has the ability to achieve the range of up to 400 km with a full 18.8It (5gal) fuel tank. The water pump of the engine has been placed inside the clutch casing so that it is safe in case of occasional mishaps.
