LatestMotorcycles.com: American motorcycle manufacturing giant Harley Davidson has recalled thousands of bikes after a series of complaints from its customers. The company has already started the recall of about 46,000 after bikers complained of biker safety.
The recall has been announced in the United States and is regarding the issue of clutches that are not fully disengaging. This results in the bikes getting stuck in the gear. Models that are affected by the recall include Road Glide, Ultra Limited, Electra Glide, Police Electra Glide and Road King models from the 2014 and 2015 range.
The auto giant has been able to identify the issue and said that the problem is caused due to the gas bubbles formation and causes the clutch to master the cylinder and loses its ability to disengage the clutch. If the rider starts the motorcycle in gear, the rider is likely to lose control.
A total of 27 crashes has been reported by Harley Davidson out of which four minor injuries have been resulted. So far it is not clear if the bikes in the UK have been affected or not as they have not been recalled so far . The recall in the US has begun from April 23, 2015 and the owners of the bikes are expected to call the customer service or the nearest dealers.
