In A Class Of Its Own: The 2016 BMW K1600GTL Exclusive

Founded out of Germany in the 1920s, BMW over the ages has established itself as the premier manufacturer of high-performance luxury machines with timeless aesthetic appeal. They once again prove themselves worthy of this distinction with their latest showcase offering- the 2016 BMW K1600GTL Exclusive Edition.

Engine and Transmission

Featuring a silken-soft yet satisfyingly brawny 6-cylinder, in-line, 1,649cc displacement, 160-horsepower engine, the GTL Exclusive beautifully merges superlative power with inimitable refinement, just as BMW fans have come to expect.

An output of 118 kW at 7,750rpm with a maximum torque of 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) at 5,250rpm, with three riding modes; Rain, Road and Dynamic, mean the GTL Exclusive is born ready for whatever challenges lie out there.

Chassis and Additional Features

What put the GTL Exclusive in a class of its very own, however, are the class-beating specifications and features that come as standard with this exemplary model; central locking with an anti-theft alarm system; ESA II electronic suspension adjustment for optimum spring/damper setup in all conditions; Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) to boost acceleration safety as well as the innovative Hill Start Control feature to make uphill starts a piece of cake.

BMW Motorrad Integral ABS systems, top-case lid embedded radio antenna, heated pillion seating further stud this impressive banner of a machine.

Also listed as standard on the GTL Exclusive are LED auxiliary headlights, an adaptive xenon headlight, Tire Pressure Monitor, engine protection bar, floor lighting, as well as a first for BMW motorcycles; key-less ignition.

The GTL Exclusive’s aesthetics match up to the stratospheric package standards, from the aluminum-molded fuel tank, the chromium-plated exhaust, all the way through to the redesigned instrumentation. A four-coat bodywork paint finish in Mineral White Metallic high gloss combines with understated chrome surfaces to stunning effect, coordinating flawlessly with the seat cushion, backrest and pillion armrest upholstery.
